In 1993, 13-year-old Kyle discovered a war chest that belonged to his grandfather, Bud, a World War II veteran. The two made a deal: Kyle could choose three objects, and Bud would tell the story behind them. Bud's war story turns out to be parallel to Kyle's experience on the modern battlefield.
